Description

You are purchasing a rare, spineless form of Coryphantha elephantidens, a highly coveted cactus prized for its plump, tooth‑like tubercles and exceptionally showy blooms. The 'Snow Cap' variety features strikingly white, woolly areoles that crown each tubercle, creating a frosted, snow‑dusted appearance.

  • Silky Smooth & Spineless – Unlike the typical form which bears short spines, this rare selection is virtually spineless. The rounded, ivory‑colored tubercles are smooth to the touch, making it both beautiful and entirely safe to handle.
  • Snow Cap Crown – Each tubercle tip is adorned with a dense tuft of pure white wool, giving the entire plant a soft, snowy look. This woolly covering intensifies under strong light and adds incredible texture to any cactus collection.
  • Giant, Fragrant Flowers – Mature specimens produce enormous, silky flowers in shades of pale yellow to creamy white, often with a delicate sweet fragrance. The blooms can reach up to 8‑10 cm across and are among the largest in the genus.
  • Stout Taproot – This species develops a thick, carrot‑like taproot that stores water and nutrients. Pot it in a deep container with excellent drainage to accommodate this root system and promote healthy growth.
  • 2‑3 cm Diameter – A young, well‑rooted specimen with a well‑formed body and developing taproot. An ideal size for establishing in your own collection.
  • Shipped Bare Root – The plant has been carefully cleaned and dried. Bare‑root shipping ensures safe transit. Pot immediately upon arrival in a sharply draining mineral mix.
  • Easy Care – Prefers bright light with some direct sun; strong light encourages dense wool development and compact form. Water thoroughly during the warm growing season (spring through summer), allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Keep completely dry during winter dormancy. Protect from frost and temperatures below 40°F (5°C). Use a highly porous, gritty soil mix — a blend of pumice, akadama, lava rock, and a small amount of organic matter works well.
