✨ Product Overview

Meet the Monk's Hood Cactus — a stunning, architectural succulent that’s a must-have for any collector’s shelf! ✨
This extraordinary cactus features a perfectly geometric, star-shaped body with 4-5 broad, angular vertical ribs, creating a bold, sculptural silhouette. The deep, glossy green body is covered in a dense layer of tiny, fuzzy white scales, giving it a soft, frosted appearance. Each rib is lined with prominent areoles, bearing long, sharp, golden-yellow spines that gradient to fiery orange at the tips, creating a striking contrast against its green body. It grows extremely slowly into a compact, bonsai-like specimen, perfect for windowsills, desk displays, or as a statement focal point in any succulent arrangement. In spring, it blooms with large, showy yellow flowers with red centers, creating a breathtaking "sunburst" effect against its frosted green body. Every plant is a unique living artwork, with natural variations in rib count and spine color intensity! 🌵

💧 Care Guide (Beginner-Friendly!)

This ultra-rare, low-maintenance cactus is perfect for new plant parents and seasoned collectors:
  • ☀️ Sunlight: Thrives in bright, direct sun to maintain its compact shape and vibrant frosted appearance. Rotate the pot weekly for even growth.
  • 💦 Watering: Follow the "soak and dry" method. Water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry (every 3-4 weeks in growing season). Keep completely dry in winter during dormancy to avoid root rot.
  • 🌡️ Temperature: Ideal growing temperature 18-30°C (64-86°F). Can tolerate short periods down to 5°C (41°F) when dry. Protect from frost!
  • 🪴 Soil: Use a very fast-draining cactus/succulent mix with high grit content (perlite, pumice, lava rock) for excellent aeration.
  • ⚠️ Special Note: The sharp, golden spines are a defensive feature — handle with care to avoid injury! The white scales are natural, not pests.
